Addressing the significant challenge of drug development costs, where 90% of drugs in pharma trials fail, I worked through the design efforts for nference's Triangulation, a new lifecycle management platform aiming to objectively assess the likelihood of success for drug programs in biopharma and help clinical and R&D teams to make informed decisions.

Introduction

Goals

The nature of pharma lifecycle management, driven by subject-matter expertise, demanded a data-driven solution. I wanted to improve the decision-making process of users by emphasizing the identification of evidence from diverse biomedical data sources, thereby reducing costs and improving the success rate of drug development. To do so, it was crucial to build a simple interface, establish a trustworthy brand voice, and highlight important key data in a sea of information.

 

Action

Collaborating with scientists, executives, and analysts, designers, and engineers, I played a crucial role in translating complex data sources into user-friendly features, including disease target details. The platform's ability to triangulate across literature, molecular, and real-world data brought an assessment to inform scientists, executives, and VC analysts, enabling more informed resource allocation and investment decisions.

Resulting diseases are shown and prioritized based on how much significant evidence exists for a target-indication pair. See the meta info associated with that target, including existing drugs for the target and their approved indications. Users can then dive directly into the literature with relevant source text snapshots.

Key Features

Disease target details

The details page contains four tabs: Overview, Disease, Target and Literature. These pages expand on information about the given query including description of the disease/target, approved treatments, relevant drug companies and top publications.

 

ongoing support

The Contact Support feature allows users to submit questions, queries and concerns directly from the app. Users can populate the fields with their question and the URL with their concern.

Results

Triangulation by nference emerged as a transformative tool for the biopharma industry. The platform's data-driven insights significantly improved decision-making, providing a unique edge in the highly competitive and complex landscape of pharmaceutical lifecycle management.
